ELECTRONICS APPLICATIONS ENGINEER

Are you an experienced Electronics Applications Engineer?  Would you like to help build the next generation Wi-Fi chips that will enable a new generation of Internet of Things (IoT) devices?


As Electronics Applications Engineer with Morse Micro you will be based at Morse Micro Headquarters in Sydney, working with the team to develop new applications reference designs. You will be experienced in electronics hardware and firmware development and be able to create and commission new applications designs to meet customer needs. You will support overseas customers and be willing to travel internationally when needed. You will also be able to work and collaborate effectively as a part of an international team of Field Applications Engineers.

At Morse Micro you will be working with experienced professionals and engineers, some of whom are the team that invented the original Wi-Fi technology that is ubiquitous today.

As an Electronics Applications Engineer your main responsibilities will  include:

  • Development of new applications reference designs

  • Electronics hardware and firmware development and debug

  • Identification of customer needs, specifications and requirements

  • Support of overseas customer applications

  • Working and collaborating as a part of an international team of Field Applications Engineers

  • International travel as needed

Essential skills (you must have):

  • BSc in Electrical / Electronics / Communication Engineering or Computer Science

  • 4+ years relevant industry experience as an electronics engineer

  • Embedded electronic systems design

  • Altium or other PCB design software

  • Wireless systems design

  • Bench prototyping skills

  • Embedded programming in C

  • Python

  • Ability to work in Linux

  • Wireless systems bench testing with equipment such as vector signal generators, vector signal analysers and vector network analysers

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong documentation skills


Bonus skills:

  • Experience with 802.11

  • Worked with semiconductor design teams

  • Digital signal processing

  • Ultra-low-power systems design

  • Experience with semiconductor qualification procedures

  • Wi-Fi specific test equipment such as Litepoint
