FIELD APPLICATION ENGINEER MANAGER-(HANZGHOU CHINA)

Are you an experienced Field Applications Engineer who’s fluent in both Mandarin & English? Would you want to be responsible for setting up Morse Micro’s office in Hangzhou, China and manage a local team of FAEs?

You can help us become the #1 wireless IoT chip vendor in China.

As FAE Manager, you will work closely with our partners in China and help them integrate Morse Micro’s 802.11ah chips into a range of high-end IoT products. You will interact daily with the design teams in Sydney and assist with hardware and software debugging. Over time you will grow the engineering team in China and manage a team of FAEs.

As one of Morse Micro’s first employees in China this is a great opportunity for an ambitious and driven engineer to get in early and play a key role in the growth of the company.

Starting date for this position would be May.


About the role:

  • Set up Morse Micro’s first Chinese office

  • Be the first point of contact to Morse Micro’s customers in China

  • Assist customers with reference design bringup, chip integration and debug

  • Communicate with the chip and software design teams in Sydney

  • Technical sales and support of local reps & distributors

  • Recruit and manage a team of FAEs


Minimum qualifications:

  • Field Application Engineer with 10+ years relevant industry experience

  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills in both English and Mandarin

  • BSc or MSc in Electrical or Electronics Engineering

  • Expert in embedded C programming

  • Experience with GNU/Linux development environments

  • Experience with Python / Perl / Bash / Makefile scripting

  • Experience with Wi-Fi chipsets from Broadcom / Cypress / Qualcomm / Mediatek / Realtek  / Marvell / Intel

  • Experience with integration of RF chipsets on PCBs

  • Experience taking bench measurements such as; noise figure, EVM, distortion etc

  • Good understanding of the IEEE 802.11 Wi-Fi protocol

  • Familiarity with Linux kernel driver development

  • Familiarity with FPGA and IC design flows from Xilinx, Cadence or Synopsys and digital design languages such as VHDL, Verilog and SystemVerilog

  • Familiarity with revision control systems such as git

  • Strong problem-solving skills and thorough methodical work style

  • Willing to travel within China and to Sydney, Australia

  • A hands-on, practical attitude
