Morse Micro has been named a winner of the 2025 IoT Emerging Technology Award, recognized by IoThinkTank for redefining wireless infrastructure through our work with Wi-Fi HaLow. This prestigious honor highlights the new capabilities of our MM8108 chip and underscores the transformative impact Wi-Fi HaLow is having on next-generation IoT networks.

Why It Matters
Winning this award is validation of a global movement towards smarter, more sustainable, and more scalable IoT connectivity (AKA IoT 2.0). This next generation of IoT demands long-range, high-bandwidth, power-efficient wireless connectivity to support real-time edge computing, automation, and AI inference in the field. Morse Micro is enabling this transformation with Wi-Fi HaLow and is proud to be leading the charge when it comes to IoT connectivity.
At the heart of this transformation is the MM8108 chip, launched in January. The integrated 26 dBm power amplifier, which offers a 37% transmit efficiency, is paired with a multi-way Doherty configuration, which optimizes efficiency across varying back-off points for high peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) signals inherent in OFDM-based Wi-Fi HaLow. As CEO, Michael De Nil has previously explained, “With the MM8108, we’re transmitting at 26 dBm output power while drawing just 325 milliamp – that’s better than anything else on the market by 3x.”
Whether powering surveillance cameras, enabling energy-efficient smart meters, or providing secure wireless links in precision agriculture or industrial automation, the MM8108 is pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in IoT connectivity.
A Recognized Shift in the Industry
The IoThinkTank Award is part of the growing recognition that Wi-Fi HaLow and Morse Micro have received. From global analyst firms to industry alliances, momentum is building behind this next-generation protocol. Just this year:
- We achieved Matter Certification for Wi-Fi HaLow with the EKH05 evaluation platform, paving the way for seamless smart home and smart building applications
- We’ve announced partnerships with Heltec, Gateworks and Vantron accelerating industrial IoT use-cases at scale
- We announced the MM8102 chip; a European variant of the MM8108 bringing the next-wave of IoT to Europe
