Morse Micro Wins 2026 Industrial IoT Product of the Year Award for MM8108 Wi-Fi HaLow SoC

Morse Micro’s MM8108 Wi-Fi HaLow System-on-Chip (SoC) has been named a winner in the 2026 Industrial IoT Product of the Year Awards by IoT Evolution World. The award recognizes the MM8108’s role in advancing the next generation of Industrial IoT connectivity, delivering the long-range, low-power, high-capacity wireless infrastructure increasingly required across industrial automation, smart infrastructure, logistics, utilities, and connected operations.

As industrial environments become more intelligent and data-driven, traditional wireless networks are increasingly being pushed beyond their original design limits. Modern Industrial IoT systems now require broader coverage, more reliable penetration, lower power consumption, and the ability to support large numbers of connected devices across complex environments.

Built on the IEEE 802.11ah Wi-Fi HaLow standard, the MM8108 was designed specifically to address these challenges. The MM8108 extends Wi-Fi into the sub-GHz spectrum, enabling kilometre-scale coverage, strong wall and obstacle penetration, and support for thousands of connected devices per access point, while maintaining native IP networking and WPA3 security. Delivering data rates up to 43.33 Mbps using sub-GHz 256-QAM modulation, the MM8108 enables a new class of Industrial IoT applications that require more than simple sensor connectivity.

This shift reflects the broader evolution toward “IoT 2.0” – where connected systems increasingly depend on richer data, edge intelligence, real-time visibility, and more scalable wireless infrastructure.

Importantly, Wi-Fi HaLow is emerging not as a replacement for traditional Wi-Fi, but as the utility layer that extends Wi-Fi into the hardest-to-reach parts of industrial and infrastructure environments. From factories and warehouses to energy infrastructure and remote monitoring systems, organizations are increasingly looking for reliable connectivity beyond the limits of conventional 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz networks.

“The Industrial IoT market is moving toward larger, more intelligent, and more distributed deployments, and that requires a different class of wireless infrastructure,” said Michael De Nil, co-founder and CEO of Morse Micro. “The MM8108 was built to extend the reach of Wi-Fi into environments where traditional wireless systems struggle, while preserving the interoperability, security, and simplicity that have made Wi-Fi the world’s most successful wireless platform.”

The Industrial IoT Product of the Year Awards recognize the most innovative and impactful products advancing Industrial IoT across manufacturing, logistics, infrastructure, energy, transportation, and industrial operations.

For Morse Micro, the award reinforces the growing momentum behind Wi-Fi HaLow as industrial markets increasingly prioritize long-range, reliable, and scalable connectivity for the next generation of connected systems.
