The connectivity gap

Connecting a farm means covering distance with almost no infrastructure and no mains power. LoRaWAN reaches far on little power, but delivers tiny payloads. Cellular and Narrowband IoT (NB-IoT) cover ground but cost a subscription per device and drop out in rural dead zones. Satellite and fixed wireless bring broadband to the farmhouse, but stop at the premises.
